With some hot bar reflow soldering applications, the thermode can come in direct contact with the flux and/or solder material, polluting the thermode which then needs to be cleaned. The cleaning process, in turn, causes wear, necessitating more frequent replacement. To prevent this, and keep the solder joint quality at the highest level, a Kapton Interposer may be used. Our Kapton-polyamide tape is 25 microns thick and 5mm wide, supplied on 200 meter reels. Useful for up to 4000 connections when used with average-sized thermode (50mm).
